Prince Tour - Prince announces tour to start in December into 2013 :
Iconic singer Prince says he's planning a tour to begin in December that will feature him, his band and other performers.
The artist said Thursday night at New York's famed Apollo Theater that he was announcing a series of tour dates, dubbed Welcome 2 America.
Prince says he will perform with own band, the New Power Generation, and serve as master of ceremonies.
He also said that Welcome 2 America is "best described as what we've all been waiting for." He tells concertgoers to "bring friends, bring your children and bring foot spray 'cause it's gon' be funky."
The singer says the shows will feature funk, R&B and jazz artists including Maceo Parker, Janelle Monae, Mint Condition, Esperanza Spalding, Lalah Hathaway, Sheila E., Cassandra Wilson and Graham Central Station.
Prince Announces New Tour :
Never one to sit still for too long, Prince, 52, announced a new series of star-studded live shows at a press conference yesterday at NYC's famed Apollo Theater in Harlem.
Adorned in gold-rimmed aviator sunglasses and a black turtleneck with his 21 Nights In London DVD flashing on a projector behind him, the entertainer announced the shows and tour dates, titled Welcome 2 America, which will feature guest stars including his "favorite new artist" Janelle Monae, the legendary Maceo Parker, Mint Condition, Esperanza Spalding and famed funk outfit Graham Central Station.
Though no specific dates, cities or venues were announced, the shows are scheduled to kick off in December and will feature a gold-plated Fender guitar that will be auctioned off at the end of the live run with proceeds beneftting the Harlem Children's Zone.
"The nights of entertainment will feature some of the best artists this country has to offer," the singer promised reporters. "They know what time it is. So come early and come often, because every time we play it's always something new. No two shows will be the same. I have a lot of hits. Bring your friends, bring your children, bring your own foot spray -- it's going to be funky!"
Prince to kick off new tour in New York City area :
Since all the critics love when the singer is in New York, that’s where he will open his Welcome 2 America Tour in December.
The announced dates are Dec. 14, 15 and 17 at Izod Center in East Rutherford, N .J. and Dec. 18 and 29 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Tickets will go on sale Saturday.
The song writer announced his tour on Oct. 14 at the Apollo Theater but he did not specify dates and cities. He did say that every show will be different, featuring personal band as well as such artists as Janelle Monae, Maceo Parker, Esperanza Spalding, Cassandra Wilson, Sheila E , Larry Graham and the Twin Cities’ own Mint Condition.
“You need to come often because every time we play there’s always something new,” the artist said at the Apollo. “No concert is ever the same. I got a lot of hits. Bring friends, bring your children and bring foot spray ‘cause it’s gon’ be funky.” I would not miss any of the Prince concerts especially my local venue tour dates.

PRINCE TOUR STARTS DECEMBER 14 IN EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY :
Prince has named the first few dates of his previously announced tour. According to New York R&B station WBLS via Rolling Stone, the tour kicks off December 14 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where it will remain for two more dates before traveling to Madison Square Garden on the 19th and 29th of December. WBLS is also reporting that tickets will go on sale October 30, though Live Nation has not listed all the Prince tour dates yet.
